Troop News

Thanks to the planning, preparation, organization, and hard work by Mr. Larry Young, trip coordinator, the trip to Northern Tier was certainly our best trip/trek yet....since we ( with several members of Troop 254) left on the bus on the 29th of June, started the trek at the BSA High Adventure Base at Bissett, in Manitoba, Canada, just west of Winnepeg in the Canadian wilderness. There was a total of 26 members in the the group, which was later separated into three crews of Scouts, leaders, and a Guide (Interpreter).

We arrived in Hoover in the early evening, yesterday, July 11, following the members who had flown and arrived two days before.

We will have a regular Troop meeting tonight (July 12) for the boys and leaders who participated to talk to the Trek tonight as well as other troop issues, business, and this month's coming activities (white water rafting) as usual.

Pictures taken of the Trek by members will be posted on the Troop web site as soon as Mr. Simon can acquire them and we will finish up comments an experience by the three crews at the August 2 Court of Honor.

Don't forget that we will be supporting J Ng this coming Saturday with his Eagle Project at Bumpus. We will need leaders and Scouts to make this work out well. A notice was mailed last nigh explaining the details.

Thanks for all the support and encouraging attendance in making it all possible.
